The short version. Convertly has no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics. We do not operate servers that receive your data, and we never sell or share your personal information. Your conversion history, your favourite currencies and your settings are stored only on your own device. Location is optional, is switched off by default, and — if you turn it on — is saved on your device alongside your conversion history so you can see where an exchange happened. The app does contact three third-party services to do its job: a currency-rate API, a Bitcoin price API, and a map-tile server. Those are described in full in section 6.
This Privacy Policy describes how AXW Solutions (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles
information in connection with the Convertly mobile application (the “App”), distributed
through Google Play under the package name com.axwcode.convertly.
It applies to the App and to any updated versions of it. It does not apply to third-party services that the App contacts, which operate under their own privacy policies — those are named individually in section 6.
By installing or using Convertly you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
AXW Solutions does not collect, receive, store or process any personal information about you. We do not operate any backend server, database or account system for Convertly. There is nowhere for your data to be sent to us, and we have no ability to identify an individual user of the App.
Specifically, the App does not:
The two categories of information the App does handle — data kept locally on your device, and data sent to third-party services in order to fetch rates and map tiles — are described in section 3, section 4 and section 6.
To make the App useful between sessions, Convertly saves a small amount of data in your device’s private application storage. This storage is sandboxed by the operating system: it is readable only by Convertly, it is not transmitted to us, and it is removed when you uninstall the App.
| What is stored | Why | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Conversion history — for each saved exchange: the source and target currency codes, the amount you entered, the converted result, a timestamp, and (only if you enabled location) the latitude and longitude at that moment. | So you can review, revisit and chart your past conversions in the History and Trends tabs. | On-device app storage only. |
| Favourite currencies — the currency codes you star. | To put the currencies you use most at the top of the pickers. | On-device app storage only. |
| App settings — your theme preference, haptic-feedback preference, and the on/off state of the optional location feature. | So the App opens the way you left it. | On-device app storage only. |
None of this information is backed up to us, synced to any account, or shared between devices by the App. If you have enabled Android’s own system backup for your device, Android may include app data in the backup it stores in your personal Google account; that backup is controlled by you and by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
Convertly includes an optional feature that tags a saved conversion with the place where you made it, so that your history can show, for example, that you converted EUR to JPY while you were in Kyoto.
If a saved conversion has coordinates and you choose to open its map view, the App must download map imagery for that area. To do so it requests map tiles from the OpenStreetMap tile service. Those requests necessarily reveal, to OpenStreetMap, the map tile coordinates being viewed (an approximation of the location) together with your device’s IP address, in the same way that opening any web map does. This happens only when you open a map inside the App. See section 6 for the relevant policy link.
Deleting a conversion record from the History tab deletes the coordinates stored with it. Clearing your history, or uninstalling the App, removes all of it. See section 9.
Convertly requests the minimum set of Android permissions needed for its features:
| Permission | Required? | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
android.permission.INTERNET |
Required | To fetch live exchange rates, Bitcoin prices, and map tiles. No personal data is sent with these requests. |
android.permission.ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATIONandroid.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION |
Optional | Only used for the opt-in feature that tags a saved conversion with the place it was made, described in section 4. The App is fully functional with these permissions denied. |
Convertly does not request background location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage/media, phone, SMS, calendar, body sensors, or the advertising ID.
Convertly contains no advertising, analytics, attribution or tracking SDKs. It does, however, need to call a small number of public third-party endpoints to retrieve live data. When your device makes any internet request, the receiving service can see your device’s IP address and standard connection metadata; that is inherent to how the internet works and is true of every connected app. We do not control, and receive no copy of, what these providers log.

Rates and prices returned by these services are provided for general informational purposes and are not financial advice.
Because we do not receive your information, we do not use it for any purpose. The data held on your device is used solely, and locally, to:
We do not use any information for advertising, profiling, credit scoring, market research, or training machine learning models.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have never done so, and doing so is impossible given that we hold no user data.
We do not disclose information to advertisers, data brokers, or analytics providers. The only transfers of data that occur are the direct, functional requests from your own device to the third-party services listed in section 6. Should we ever be required by law to disclose information, we would be able to provide nothing about an individual user, because we hold nothing.
We retain no data about you, so there is no retention period on our side. Data stored on your device is kept until you remove it. You are in complete control:
Because deletion happens entirely on your device, no request to us is required — and we have no copy that could survive it. If you would still like written confirmation of this, contact us at axwsolutions@gmail.com.
All network requests made by the App use encrypted HTTPS connections. Data saved by the App is held in the operating system’s private, per-application storage area, which Android isolates from other apps. Because no user data is transmitted to or stored by AXW Solutions, there is no server-side database of user information that could be breached.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and the security of your device itself — its lock screen, its operating-system updates, and any device backups you enable — remains your responsibility.
Convertly is a general-audience utility. It is not directed to children, is not designed to appeal to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). The App contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, no social features, no user-generated content, and no messaging.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at axwsolutions@gmail.com. In practice, any information a child entered would exist only on that device and can be erased by clearing the App’s data or uninstalling it.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Because AXW Solutions is not a controller of any personal data about you — the data never leaves your device — these rights are exercised directly and immediately by you, using the in-app controls described in section 9.
To the extent that data on your device is considered processing at all, our legal bases would be: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for the optional location feature, which you grant explicitly and may withdraw at any time; and legitimate interests / performance of the service (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)) for storing your conversion history and preferences so that the App works as expected.
We do not collect the categories of personal information listed in the CCPA, we do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those permitted. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of sale or sharing; because we hold no personal information, a request to know or delete will be answered by confirming that we hold nothing, and deletion of on-device data is carried out by you as described in section 9. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
Regardless of where you live, you can achieve the practical effect of every one of these rights at any time by clearing the App’s history and data, revoking its permissions, or uninstalling it. Questions may be sent to axwsolutions@gmail.com; we aim to respond within 30 days.
We do not transfer your personal data internationally, because we do not receive it. The third-party services listed in section 6 operate their own infrastructure, which may be located in countries other than your own; requests to them are made directly from your device under their respective privacy policies.
